I have delayed making the call on what to do this weekend and beyond because the factors that help make the decision keep changing, some daily and some hourly. I have taken so many calls and heard from so many people about how should / will the church respond to the decision to be open or closed.
Frequently asked questions:
1. Will you be open for services? I want to be sensitive to all people who may be battling this choice. As pastors, we all want to be gathered together for worship. Frankly, I look forward to seeing all of you more than you will ever know. When we worship together, we all feed off that energy and the result is a much better worship experience. Having said that the entire staff will be together on Saturday 7 PM and Sunday 10:45 AM to create a worship environment for all of us. As of now, we will continue to have Bible Studies at 9:30 AM Sunday morning and 4 PM Sunday afternoon along with 4 PM Wednesday. We will also continue to have all of our DNA groups and Monday evening prayer meeting at 6:30 PM. If any of these meetings (other than Saturday and Sunday services) fall below a function amount of people we will suspend them.
2. How will you handle social distancing if you are open? We have arranged the seats in the sanctuary in a way that you can all attend, if you wish, without breaking the social distancing guidelines. To aide in social distancing, we will also offer a live feed on Facebook so that you can still worship with us even if you feel it is in your best interest not to come out and join us in person. We would love to see you all here as stated above but wanted to make sure you have plenty of options on how you do that.
3. How can we continue to support the church financially if we are not able to attend? We have many different ways that you can contribute to the furthering of our efforts to expand the ministry Christ has charged us with already in place. It all depends on how you feel the most comfortable doing so.
